Jamie’s Boudoir Experience – Q&A
To give you a real insight into what a boudoir photoshoot actually feels like, we asked Jamie after her session to share her honest thoughts.
1. What made you decide to book a boudoir photoshoot?
“I think I just got to a point where I didn’t feel like me anymore. I’d lost that connection with my body and my confidence. I wasn’t booking it because I felt amazing – I was booking it because I wanted to feel something again.”
2. How did you feel in the days leading up to your shoot?
“Honestly? Nervous. I kept thinking, ‘What if I’m awkward? What if I don’t look good?’ It’s that fear of being seen properly. But at the same time, I knew that’s exactly why I needed to do it.”
3. What was your first impression when you arrived at the studio?
“I felt at ease almost instantly. The space didn’t feel intimidating – it felt private, calm, and really well thought out. There were different setups, different moods… it made me realise this wasn’t going to be a one-dimensional shoot.”
4. Were you given guidance during the shoot?
“100%. That was one of my biggest worries – not knowing how to pose. But I was guided the whole way through. Every pose, every movement, even expressions. It didn’t feel forced, it felt natural. That’s what helped me relax.”
5. Tell us about the Wet Rain Studio experience…
“That was the turning point for me. At first I was a bit hesitant – it’s quite a bold look – but once I stepped into it, I just let go. There’s something really freeing about it. It felt powerful, almost cinematic. Like I wasn’t just posing anymore – I was expressing something.”
6. How did you feel moving between the different themes?
“That was actually one of my favourite parts. The variety was incredible. The bedroom set felt soft and intimate, the mirrored room was more bold and confident, and then the rain set… that was something else entirely. It brought out a completely different side of me.”
7. You also did an art nude set – how did that feel?
“I was surprised at how comfortable I felt. It didn’t feel exposed in a negative way. It felt… artistic. Tasteful. It was more about shape, light, and emotion than anything else. It actually made me appreciate my body in a way I hadn’t before.”

8. At what point did your confidence start to shift?
“I think it was gradual, but there was definitely a moment where I stopped overthinking. I stopped worrying about how I looked and just started feeling it. That’s when everything changed.”
9. How did you feel when you saw your photos?
“I genuinely didn’t recognise myself – but in the best way possible. It wasn’t because I looked different, it was because I’d never seen myself like that before. Strong. Feminine. Confident. It was emotional, actually.”
10. What would you say to someone thinking about doing this?
“Do it. Even if you don’t feel ready. Especially if you don’t feel ready. It’s not about being perfect – it’s about experiencing something that reminds you who you are. I wish I’d done it sooner.”
